Movement Medicine

Multicolored twisted ordered parallel lines on a black background. Light in motion. Color abstraction. Fanfares drawn by light.

Movement Medicine is a creative, self expressive, meditative dance practice which connects your body, heart, mind and spirit.

inspiration from birds and emancipatory positive power

In our westernised society, many of us have not been encouraged to listen our bodies and our hearts,

we have instead been taught to value our mind’s intelligence over our body’s intelligence.

Movement Medicine helps us to reconnect and start to listen to our body and heart again

we do this through engaging the body in movement,

to bring our awareness back inside our bodies and trust the movement that comes,

through this process of embodiment we can engage all of our power

through the integrated intelligence of the body, heart, and mind.

Movement Medicine is a process of learning to trust yourself and your body again,

to trust that there is a dancer, a mover, a creator inside you that knows what to do,

to express how you feel, make sense of your experiences, to express the true essence of who you are.

Empowered Woman

Movement Medicine supports you to embody all of who you are

and encourages you to be all you can be.

This is a journey of active acceptance of those ‘hidden’ parts of ourselves,

to acknowledge and embrace the gifts that are inside, and bring these gifts into the world,

and at the same time this practice teaches us to not take ourselves so seriously.

Movement Medicine is about understanding the bigger picture,

that we all affect each other on this planet and what we do matters;

it matters to our own selves, to each other and to our world.

‘The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.’

~ Alan W. Watts

Old gone dancing sign on green doors.

Whatever your physical ability, age, body shape – everybody can dance

even if its just the tips of your fingers or the dancing of your eyes.

‘Dance, when you’re broken open. Dance, if you’ve torn the bandage off. Dance in the middle of the fighting. […] Dance when you’re perfectly free.’

~ Rumi
